Since 1951, Camp Voyageur has been a place of renewal and reflection. Kids leave feeling strong, resilient, and mindful—perfect goals for the year ahead. Here are nine ways to harness the rejuvenating power of Camp Voyageur in 2025.
Whether you spend five days in the Boundary Waters or five minutes at a small park, the outdoors offer perspective and peace.
Resolve to set aside tech-free hours each day to reconnect with family, friends, or yourself. Trade doom-scrolling and brain rot for storytelling around a fire pit or over a board game.
Friendships grow through shared experiences. Organize a game night, send a handwritten letter, or plan a trip with your friends.
Aim to create meals from simple, wholesome ingredients. Host a dinner with friends, cook rice and beans over a fire, and eat together family style (without phones–see #2).
Pick up a guitar, grab a book from a genre you’ve never read, or explore unfamiliar trails. Resolve to embrace challenges and grow through fresh experiences.
You don’t have to portage a canoe to get into great shape. Make fitness fun by playing individual and team sports. Grab some friends and play pickleball, basketball, or go for a swim. You could even teach them Scrobnitz!
Live with respect for the world around you. Repair, reuse, and repurpose whenever possible. Minimize waste and respect natural spaces. Leave each place better than you found it.
Camp teaches us the value of clean water, fresh air, and unspoiled wilderness. Support local conservation efforts, reduce waste, and speak up for policies that protect our natural world.
Cross paddles often, taking time to clarify your goals and align your actions with your values. Simplify where you can. Spend time with loved ones, focus on personal growth, and give back.
